KARACHI:

The Pakistan Peoples Party-led (PPP) Sindh government has been manipulating the Sindhi speaking community's sentiments to prolong its rule, claimed Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chairperson Syed Mustafa Kamal.

“The PPP frightened the Sindhi community by saying that Muttahida Qaumi Movement's slogan of a Muhajir province would be tantamount to tearing the province into pieces," he maintained while addressing a meeting with party members on Tuesday.

He added that the PPP was carrying out the same ethnic politics by spreading rumours of handing over of Karachi to the federal government, though the Centre had not issued any statement in this regard.

Kamal stated that the PSP had always stuck to the narrative that Sindh should not be divided by fanning the fires of ethnic strife and against the will of the people.

However, he added, it had become impossible to find an administrative solution to Karachi's problems because the provincial government's prejudice had led to the city’s fragmentation.

"Sindh’s division is unacceptable, as is the bifurcation of Karachi," he said, adding that his party would never let ethnic divisions engulf the province.
