Pre-Muharram cleanliness drive starts

The sanitation teams will clean small and big drains

RAWALPINDI:

A clean-up drive has been launched in Gawalmandi area of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board before Muharram. The main procession routes and streets around Imambargah Qasre Masooma are being cleaned and washed with disinfectants. On the direction of Cantt Board CEO Omar Farooq Malik, Chief Public Health Officer Waris Bhatti, Inspector Mazhar Hassan and Area Supervisor Muhammad Najib are supervising the cleaning campaign. The surrounding streets, Anandpura, FG High School and Eagle Chowk are being cleaned. The sanitation teams will clean small and big drains while the entire area will be disinfected with pesticides to ensure the health of the mourners.
