Lahore High Court suspends CAA’s notice to pilot
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has suspended a notice of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) under which the licence of a pilot was suspended.
Justice Jawad also sought replies from the federal government and the CAA on a petition filed by a pilot, Umar Saleem challenging the licence suspension by the authority.
As the proceedings commenced, Justice Jawad questioned the CAA lawyer that the licence was issued to the pilot in 2013 and how the authority has realised to proceed against him in 2020.

The petitioner’s counsel argued that the licence was issued to his client in 2013, he served as a captain in PIA in 2015 but the CAA director general, without hearing the petitioner, suspended his licence.
He argued that the CAA DG had also been working as the authority of the appellate forum against the rules. He implored the court that a person who awards punishment could be not able to render his services as an appellate forum.
He requested the court that the CAA notice issued to the petitioner be declared null and void.
