The Express Tribune’s reporter Hafeez Tunio received a print media award under the ‘Police Media Saath Saath’ initiative, launched by Communication Research Strategies (CRS) to create a conducive network among the police, media and civil society. Tunio received the award, announced during a virtual ceremony on Monday, for his portrayal of Pirabad’s female SHO Sharafat Khan. Zohaib Mansha from Urdu Point and Faisal Ali Khan from ARY News also received awards in the digital and electronic media categories. “We have taken this initiative in the hope that the masses can see the police in more positive light through the power of media and civil society,” said CRS CEO Aniq Zafar. “It’s all about dialogue, coordination and organisation. It’s a positive sign that stakeholders are willing to sit and talk out their differences and journalists are writing about police reforms.”
