Devolution impact: Top health ministry officials receive transfer notices

Four former Health Ministry DDGs moved to different departments.

ISLAMABAD:

Former officials of the devolved health ministry were transferred to other departments amid concerns about their future career path.

The Capital Administration and Development Division issued a notification on Saturday transferring four Deputy Director Generals (DDG) to different department and institutions.

Ministry of Health was devolved in June; no notifications were given to the ministry officials regarding their transfers – they were verbally informed of their termination by the higher ups of the ministry, especially those working in development projects.

This created confusion about their status, which is now clarified after the notification.

According to the orders issued, DDG Dr Captain Rtd Mohammad Raza of grade 19 is being transferred to H4 Federal Medical and Dental College and “other projects”; DDG Dr Furrukh Fiaz
Lodhi of grade 19 is transferred to H1 Federal Government Polyclinic and National Institute of Rehabilitative Medicines DDG Dr Mehboob Ahmed Agha of grade 19 is being sent as DDG H2 to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and Training Coordinator and Additional Secretary Tobacco Control Cell Dr Minhajus Siraj from BS-18 is being transferred to H3 as in-charge Medical Facilities and Medical Imbursement.
