Anti-dengue worker beaten up, held hostage

Victim assaulted and held captive for two hours

RAWALPINDI:

A case was registered at the Saddar police station against the suspects who kidnapped, assaulted and held a dengue worker hostage for two hours.

The Health Inspector Bilal Akhtar informed the police that the dengue surveillance team comprising Sheroz Khan, Muhammad Shiraz, Nauman Ali and Osama Izhar went to a house in Dhok Lakhan area for inspection. On ringing the bell, Amjad Mehmood came outside and started misbehaving with the team members.

Meanwhile, another made a call and five unidentified people arrived there in a tinted vehicle. They kidnapped Ali on gunpoint and took him to an unidentified spot. Ali was assaulted and held captive for two hours.
