Covid-19 claims two more lives in Punjab

With 188 fresh infections, total virus cases exceed 95,390

The coronavirus disease claimed two more lives in Punjab while the number of coronavirus cases in the province exceeded 95,390 after registration of 188 new cases.

According to the spokesperson of Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) on Sunday, so far the total number of deaths had been recorded at 2,182 altogether.

The P&SHD confirmed that 94 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Lahore, two in Nankana Sahib, one in Kasur, two in Sheikhupura, five in Rawalpindi, 16 in Gujranwala, nine in Sialkot, one in Narowal, 10 in Gujrat, four in Mandi Bahauddin, nine in Multan, one in Vehari, 10 in Faisalabad, 1 in Chiniot and four virus cases were reported in Toba Tek Singh.

Moreover, one virus case was reported in Jhang, one in Rahim Yar Khan, four in Sargodha, one in Bahawalnagar, one in Bahawalpur, three in Dera Ghazi Khan, six in Sahiwal, one in Okara and one new virus case was reported in Pakpattan districts during the last 24 hours. The health department had conducted 824,125 tests for Covid-19 so far while 87,441 confirmed cases recovered all together in the province. Health department officials also appealed to the citizens to adopt SOPs for their protection and cover their faces with masks. The people should wash their hands with soap several times in a day to protect themselves from Covid-19, they added.
