Five more succumb to coronavirus in Sindh

Five more people succumbed to coronavirus overnight in the province, which took the death toll to 2,322, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Sunday.

He further said that 278 more people were diagnosed with Covid-19, taking the total number of infected people in Sindh to 126,182.

The CM said that currently, 4,288 people were infected by the virus, among whom 3,888 were in home isolation, 392 were being treated at different hospitals and eight were quarantined at isolation centres.

Among them, the condition of 216 patients is critical, while 34 of them are on ventilators, he added.

Meanwhile, 147 more patients recovered from the infectious disease overnight, which soared the number of total recovered people to 119,572 in the province.

According to the Sindh CM, out of 278 fresh Covid-19 cases, 144 were reported in Karachi. Moreover, Sujawal saw 12 new coronavirus cases, Matiari 11, Khairpur and Umerkot 10 each, Shikarpur and Tando Allahyar nine each, Hyderabad seven, Sukkur and Thatta six each and Jacobabad, Badin and Qambar-Shahdadkot five each.
