‘Corona Heroes Wall’ foundation stone laid
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar laid the foundation of ‘Wall of Corona Heroes’ in the Governor House on Friday to pay tribute to the frontline heroes who fought against the pandemic.
Reportedly, the wall will exhibit photos and names of the heroes who helped contain the virus with limited resources.
The ceremony was attended by Provincial Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan, Provincial Minister of Minority Affairs Ijaz Alam, Akhuwat Foundation Chairman Dr Amjad Saqib, Board of Revenue Senior Member Babar Hayat Tarrar, Principal Secretary to Governor Punjab Dr Rashid Mansoor, Political Secretary Kashif Iqbal, and others.
While talking to the media, Sarwar said that the government has successfully contained the threat posed by the contagion under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“The health department had a pivotal role in this ordeal as they offered their services on the frontline,” he lauded.
The governor said the tribute wall would be completed within two months and will carry names and pictures of frontline warriors from various fields. He added the government would not speed a rupee for its construction instead its expenses will be borne through donations granted by the philanthropists. Giving details about the initiatives of the provincial government, Sarwar said that the administration provided ration to over 1.5 million families, provided PPEs to healthcare staff, and spent over Rs6 billion with the support of generous donors.
Akhuwat Foundation Chairman Dr Amjad Saqib said that history is a witness that all Pakistanis have faced every hardship with unity.
