PNCA holds first live concert post lockdown
To celebrate the 74th Independence Day, a live musical concert was held at the auditorium of the Pakistan National Council of the Arts. This was the first live concert after the relaxation of restrictions imposed by the government to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus (covid-19).
The concert, titled, “Meri Pehchan Pakistan”, included performances of national songs and folk dances of Pakistan.
PNCA Director General Dr Fouzia Saeed stated that the council’s mandate was to promote the young talent of Pakistan and encourage them to own their homeland while taking pride in their national identity and integrity.
A limited audience was allowed inside the auditorium while standard operating procedures (SOPs) were strictly observed.
Artists Mahnoor Altaf, Harisul Haq, Khan Shahrukh, Mehr Anjum, Humail Rajput, Sonia Aziz and Kashif Ali performed national songs.
Artists of the National Performing Arts Group presented folk dances of Balochistan, Sindh, Azad Kashmir, G-B, K-P and Punjab.
