Robber killed in police encounter

A robber was killed in an encounter within the limits of Batapur police on Wednesday. Police officials said that Saddar Division Anti-Vehicle Lifting Staff (AVLS) conducted a raid to which the accused responded by opened firing on the AVLS officials. Police returned the firing and as a result, a robber identified as Azam was killed on the spot. The body was shifted to the city for autopsy. Previously, the AVLS Cantonment team had conducted a raid in Nankana Sahib a few days ago where the accused robber Azam and his accomplices shot dead constable Muhammad Ashraf.
