Three suspects were trying to rob citizens, opened fire when police approached
A suspect was shot dead in an alleged police encounter near Jamali Bridge at the Super Highway on Tuesday night.
According to police officials, three suspects were trying to rob citizens and opened fire as the police approached them.
One of the suspects was shot dead on the spot as the law enforcers fired back in retaliation, while his accomplices managed to flee from the spot.
The deceased was identified as Hameed Bhatti, 35, and weapons and a stolen motorcycle were recovered from his possession.
The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
