Woman, minor allegedly raped in Faisalabad

Victims taken to different locations on pretext of offering help

A woman and a 10-year-old boy were allegedly sexually abused by the suspects in Faisalabad on Tuesday.

Police said a woman identified as B* Bibi, a resident of Chak No 428, in the jurisdiction of City Tandlianwala police station, was sexually assaulted by Zakir and two of his accomplices in a sugarcane field. The woman was given a lift by the accused on his motorcycle on the pretext of dropping the victim to her destination.

Police have started conducting raids to arrest the accused.

In a separate incident, a minor boy identified as A*, of Muhammad Usman, was taken away by the accused Shah Jahan to an empty house under the pretext of bringing water. The accused molested him in said house located in Sufyan Town area of Millat Town police station. Police registered a case and started searching for the accused.

Cases of sexual assault have been on the rise in Faisalabad. On July 25, two women lodged rape cases in the city. In the first incident, a resident of Chak No 203RB, Malikpur stated in a case registered at the women’s police station that she had a dispute with her husband.

She said accused Wasim called her to Aminpur bazaar on the pretext of arranging reconciliation between the couple. The accused took her to a house where he raped her at gunpoint, she alleged.

In another report lodged at a police station, a woman of Nishatabad area said her friend Asiya took her to her quarters where her husband Ashraf along with an accomplice sexually assaulted her at gunpoint. Police registered the case against the accused.

On June 7, a seven-year-old boy, who was abducted on June 5 from D-Type Colony area, had been killed after being raped. The body was found by local residents after it was thrown in a canal in Dijkot area.

Samiullah, son of Arshad Abdul Majeed and resident of the Allama Iqbal Colony area, in the jurisdiction of D-Type Colony police station, went to a shop and went missing.

The family of the missing child approached D-Type Colony police station. SHO Muhammad Tash registered a case against unidentified kidnappers under Section 363 and started an investigation to trace them.
