‘PM Imran, COAS Bajwa should meet Sindh CM to resolve Karachi’s issues’

Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chairperson Mustafa Kamal has urged Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa to meet the Sindh chief minister in order to resolve the provincial capital's problems.

Moreover, he called for the transfer of powers, conferred to the chief ministers after the 18th Amendment, to the district level. Further, he asked to ensure the launch of the Provincial Financial Commission Award, similar to the National Financial Commission Award.

Kamal maintained that Karachi should be restored as one district in order to fix its problems, instead of remaining divided into the six districts, which he claimed the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had done out of 'prejudice' towards the port city.

"PPP, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan are all part of different tiers of governments," he said. "In Sindh, it is PSP which is playing the role of opposition."

Kamal further rejected the narrative that the federal government could not do anything in the provinces after the 18th Amendment. Instead, he said, the PM should use his influence to address Sindh's problems, as it was part of Pakistan.
