CM pledges relief for rain-wrecked areas

Announces plan to compensate for losses of flood victims

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Aliyani on Monday, accompanied by provincial ministers and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) officials, visited Harnai, Sibi, Bolan and Jhal Magsi districts of the province that are affected by the recent monsoon rains and flash floods and announced compensation for people.

Provincial ministers Sardar Yar Muhamamd Rind, Haji Noor Mohammad Khan Dummar, Ziaullah Langove, Saleem Khosa, Mir Mohammad Khan Lahri and DGP PDMA Imran Zarkoon and other officials accompanied the chief minister during the visit.

Kamal reached Harnai district through an army helicopter and received a thorough briefing over the damages caused by the downpour and flash floods.

He announced plans to rehabilitate the flood victims and compensate for the losses and directed authorities concerned to complete the construction of Saroti and Kili Mirza safety dams on immediate basis.

The CM also announced the construction of Purdo Bridge (Liaison Bridge) on the National Highway which connects Balochistan with Punjab.

"The current government in Balochistan is taking all possible steps for the rehabilitation of the people affected by the rains and floods and in these catastrophic circumstances it stands with them," Kamal said as he pledged to address the important and fundamental issues of Harnai district.

The chief minister also arrived in Sibi on a short visit where Commissioner Sibi Division Syed Faisal Agha and Deputy Commissioner Sibi Dr Muhammad Yasir briefed him over flood damages and relief and rescue operation across the division. Later,Kamal flew to Bolan and examined the situation there.
