‘No promises fulfilled by Sindh govt’

Sheikh maintained that Sindh govt promised to provide 10,000 buses but did not even deliver 10 buses

Despite the Sindh government’s tall claims, the Orange Line bus rapid transit project was nowhere near completion, said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf parliamentary leader in the Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh, adding that the provincial government had not fulfilled any of its promises.

Visiting the Orange Line route on Monday, he accused the provincial government of misappropriating funds allocated for the bus project. Sheikh maintained that the Sindh government had promised to provide 10,000 buses to the port city but did not even deliver 10 buses.

Pointing out that the provincial government blamed the under-construction Green Line bus project for flooding in the city, he asked if Korangi, Nazimabad, Gulistan-e-Johar or Wazir Mansion were also inundated due to the Green Line.

Sheikh stated that the PTI had completed the 67-kilometre Peshawar bus rapid transit project and the Green Line project was nearing completion, but the Pakistan Peoples Party could not finish the 3.9-km Orange Line with an amount of Rs2.3 billion.
