FAISALABAD:

A man was shot dead while his brother sustained serious injuries in Sandal Bar police limits on Sunday. A police spokesperson said 24-year-old Ehsan Nazeer Dogar, son of Nazeer Ahmed and a resident of Chak No 33JB along with his younger brother Sufiyan Babar was going to his farm on a motorcycle when unidentified assailants opened indiscriminate firing and injured both brothers seriously. The victims were shifted to a hospital where Ehsan succumbed to his injuries while the condition of Sufiyan was stated to be critical.

According to details available with The Express Tribune, the accused Ali Hassan and three of his accomplices opened fire on the two brothers over suspicions that Ehsan had a relationship with Ali’s sister.

Police took the body of the deceased into custody and shifted it to a hospital for postmortem and registered a case against the suspects. This is not the only incident of murder in the city. On July 11, a man shot dead his two nieces over a marriage dispute.

The accused Allah Rakha, a resident of 240 Mor, Jaranwala, reportedly wanted to marry off his sons to his brother Allah Ditta’s daughters Sidra and Rani Bibi.

Allah Ditta did not agree with his brother’s decision. Due to this resentment, Allah Rakha came to his brother’s house and opened fire on his daughters.
