Abhishek Bachchan tests negative for Covid-19, returns home

The actor spent almost a month in the hospital after testing positive on July 11

Abishek Bachchan has been discharged from the hospital after a prolonged stay due to coronavirus.

The 44-year-old had been admitted at the Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai for the last 29 days, and just days before shared how he had no plans for discharge in sight. His father, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who had also been in the hospital after testing positive for Covid-19 last month but was discharged earlier, shared the happy news on Twitter.

“Abhishek tests negative for Covid-19. Discharged from the hospital. On his way home. God is great,” he shared.

Abhishek himself took to Instagram and Twitter both to share the good news with fans and well-wishers. “This afternoon I tested Covid-19 negative. Thank you all for your prayers and wishes. I’m so happy to be able to go home,” he wrote on Instagram with a picture of his hospital care board.

He then went on to thank everyone who helped him through the arduous journey. “My eternal gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Nanavati Hospital for taking such good care of me and my family and helping us beat Covid-19. We couldn’t have done it without them,” he shared.

Abhishek, along with most of his family, including father Amitabh, wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and daughter Aaradhya had tested positive for Covid-19 back in July. Aishwarya and Aaradhya were the first to return home, and Amitabh made his way back on August 2.
