‘Govt opening cinemas, not schools’
The priorities of the government are evident from its decision to reopen cinemas and theatres but not schools, All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSMA) president said on Saturday.
APPSMA President Kashif Adeeb demanded to resume matric classes in schools from August 17 and extension in registration date for ninth-grade students until September 30. The official said that that the educational institutions were going through a tough time due to five-month-long closure.
But, the government has clarified its position by announcing to reopen recreational sites, not schools. He added that APPSMA was hopeful about the resumption of educational activities after a significant drop in coronavirus cases and it had held high hopes from the inter-provincial meeting of the education ministers held on August 5.
However, Adeeb lamented that the government once again disappointed the parents and educators. The government seemed to fail to pull back the private educational institutions from the trouble that were one of the most affected sectors in the coronavirus pandemic.
