FAISALABAD:

Police have arrested a man accused by his wife of raping his two daughters in the Thikriwala area. The police arrested the accused after registering a case against him.

Samina Bibi, a resident of Chak No. 77JB stated in her report lodged at Thikriwala police station that she was married to Asif 14 years ago. The couple has two daughters and two sons. She said her husband is employed in a power loom factory and she works at homes of people.

The complainant alleged that when she went to work the previous day, her husband raped her daughters aged 11 and nine after threatening them at their home.

When she returned home, her daughters were crying and they told her about the incident, she said.

She said that when she asked her husband about the incident, he threatened to kill her.

She said her husband had been sexually assaulting her daughters in her absence due to which her nine-year-old daughter had started bleeding and he had secretly taken her to the Children’s Hospital for treatment. Police arrested the accused and registered a case under sections 376 and 377.

The police also got both girls medically examined. The DNA test of the father will be done on Monday.

SHO Thikriwala Police Station Inspector Zafar Iqbal Ora told The Express Tribune that the accused Asif, son of Aslam works at a power loom. He alleged that the accused had been sexually abusing his two daughters for over a year. Both the victims had told the police that their father used to abuse them in the absence of their mother, he said.

The official quoted the girls as saying that they had remained quiet earlier because the accused had threatened to slit their throats with a knife if they told their mother about their plight.

According to the police, Asif’s wife told the villagers about his act, after which he apologised to the villagers and fled from the house. Meanwhile, the manager of the factory where the accused worked called the complainant and urged her not to file a case. When she informed the police, the SHO threatened to include the manager in the investigation, after which he cooperated in getting the accused arrested.

Earlier this year, the year 2020, a man was accused of raping his teenage daughter in the area of Mansoorabad police station. Two cases of attempts to molest stepdaughters were also reported in Nishatabad and the police arrested the accused.
