Cotton crop under pest attack

Farmers says all their efforts for earning good profit from the crop have ended in smoke

MUZAFFARGARH:

Different pests have incurred a great loss to cotton in Tehsil Alipur and its suburban areas. Farmers said on Friday that pests and white fly have badly damaged their crops. Cotton flowers and leaves have started falling after drying up alleging that they suffered huge loss due to lethargy and inefficiency of agriculture department. Farmers said all their efforts for earning good profit from the crop have ended in smoke. When contacted, Agriculture Deputy Director refuted the allegations as baseless. He said farmers were exaggerating the situation, adding that the department teams were working hard in the filed for cotton in Alipur.
