The frequent summons issued by the National Accountability Bureau in 'baseless inquiries' are inappropriate, claimed Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Friday, referring to the anti-graft watchdog summoning him to Islamabad on multiple occasions.

Addressing the media, Shah stated that instead of summoning the chief executive or chief minister of a province, NAB officials should themselves visit the CM to obtain answers to their questions.

"NAB has been summoning me on and off in inquiries that have nothing to do with me. They have the mandate to conduct inquiries but it is inappropriate to summon a sitting chief minister of any province to the NAB office for questioning," he insisted.

"Each summon has caused character assassination for me," he claimed.
