Covid-19 reemerges in majority of districts
The Covid-19 pandemic has claimed five more lives in the province, as the total number of coronavirus cases in the province reached 93,847 after registration of 277 new cases in 28 districts, according to sources in the Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare department (P&SHD).
The spokesperson of the department on Thursday said Punjab has recorded a total of 2,162 deaths since the beginning of the outbreak in the region. He confirmed that at least 100 new cases of coronavirus were reported in Lahore alone.
Other districts reporting inflictions include: Rawalpindi, 58, Gujranwala, 25, Multan, 13, Sialkot, 11, Gujrat, 8, Toba Tek Singh, 6, Dera Ghazi Khan, 6, Bahawalpur, 5, Sahiwal, 5, Mandi Bahauddin, 5, Faisalabad, 4, Rahimyar Khan, 3, Attock, 3, Narowal, 3, Khushab, 3, Lodhran, 3, Nankana Sahib, 2, Sargodha, 2, Mianwali, 2, and Bahawalnagar, 2.
Moreover, Kasur, Jehlum, Hafizabad, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, and Okara registered one virus case each during the last 24 hours.
It is worth noting that the Punjab health department has conducted 754,559 coronavirus tests in total and at least 85,232 confirmed virus patients recovered in the province to date.
Punjab health department has appealed to the masses to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to contain the rebounding virus.
It also issued instructions for the masses to continue use of face mask and sanitizing their hands multiple times a day.
The department urged people to immediately contact emergency helpline to report themselves or others if they experience the symptoms associated with the pandemic.
