4 arrested for impersonating cops

Police arrest 13 suspects in total

ISLAMABAD:

Police have arrested 13 suspects, including four who were allegedly looting people while masquerading as cops. Stolen moeny, valuables and weapons were recovered from the possession of these suspects, a police spokesperson said on Wednesday.

The official said that Shahid Boota had lodged a complaint about being looted by cops. At thisto SP Rural-Zone Farooq Amjad Buttar formed a team spearheaded by ASP Usman Tipu and Khanna police station SHO Inspector Mirza Gulfraz and others to probe and apprehend the suspects.

The team raided a suspected hideout and apprehended the four impersonators.

The suspects were identified as Irfan Masih, Raheel Masih, Adil and Sharoon. The spokesperson added that the police team also recovered stolen cash and weapons from their possession.

The Khanna police booked the men while further investigations are underway.

Moreover, the homicide unit of the Saddar police circle recovered a 30 bore pistol from Arshad Khan which had allegedly been used in a murder.

Separately, the Golra police arrested Arshad and Aamir who were involved in thefts. The Shams colony police arrested Shahzad and recovered two stolen mobile phones from him.

Cases were registered against these suspects while additional legal proceedings are underway.

Moreover, five proclaimed offenders were apprehended during special checking in the city.
