LAHORE:

Stressing the need for promoting tree plantation, Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change Rukhsana Naveed said that planting trees is crucial for human survival. During a meeting with Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Chairman Yasir Gillani regarding ‘Tree Plantation Day’ at Jilani Park on Wednesday, she stated that the PHA was planting a record number of trees and saplings in the provincial capital to make it more attractive. She remarked that the efforts of PHA officials for maintaining the greenery in the provincial capital in a better and developed manner was commendable. The PHA, in collaboration with the Tiger Force on the ‘Monsoon Tree Plantation Day’, to be observed on August 9, would plant around 50,000 saplings in the city. The PHA chairman said the authority was striving hard to make the province clean and green. He added that new trees, plants and saplings would help reduce environmental pollution.
