2,000 saplings to be planted

Around 500 plants will be planted at government offices

BAHAWALPUR:

The agriculture department will plant 2,000 saplings in Ahmedpur East during a tree plantation campaign.

Assistant Director (Extension) Chaudhary Bashir Ahmed announced the target as he planted a sapling at Agriculture Department Chani Goth premises to inaugurate the campaign.

The agriculture assistant director said arrangements had been finalised to plant 2,000 sapplings in different areas of Tehsil Ahmedpur East. “Around 500 plants will be planted at government offices and 1,500 at agricultural farms,” he said. He urged people to participate in tree plantation drives to make the environment better. “To fight against air pollution, we have to encourage tree plantation,” said Ahmed.
