ISLAMABAD:

The health ministry on Tuesday was directed to reissue a notification for the promotion of doctors, which had previously been withdrawn in the wake of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

This was directed by Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Athar Minallah as he presided over a case on the promotion of doctors.

During Tuesday’s proceedings, Rashid Hafeez, the counsel for the medics, stated that the court had once again ordered to issue the notification after certain changes in the stay order.

However, he said that the federal health ministry had refused to abide by the order.

CJ Minallah turned to the ministry’s representative and said that the court had ordered changes in the stay order while instructing him to issue the notification for the promotions once again.

Earlier, IHC chief justice once again expressed his displeasure at seeing several doctors sitting in the courtroom. Later, the court adjourned the case until September 2.
