Injured infant girl found abandoned on Karachi streets
A severely injured infant girl was found abandoned in a street near Manzoor Colony on Tuesday.
She was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment and was later moved to a shelter home run by the Chhipa Welfare Association.
According to Chhipa Welfare Association Ramzan Chhipa, the baby was thrown from the second floor of a building and fell on a shade above one of the shops.
“She has sustained an injury in the right eye,” he said.
Meanwhile, police registered a case against a woman said to be the infant’s mother, a man who is allegedly the infant’s father and an elderly man said to be her grandfather. The case has been registered on state’s behalf.
According to police, the woman had the girl with her cousin out of wedlock, and her cousin and father threw the baby down the second floor at 6am, right after her birth.
