Egypt has hailed Pakistan’s continuous efforts for peace and stability in the region, a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.

The statement comes after Egypt’s Ambassador to Pakistan Tarek Mohamed Dahroug called on army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, the military’s media wing said.

The ISPR added that during the meeting matters of mutual interest and cooperation in various fields were discussed. “The two expressed satisfaction on trajectory of bilateral relations between both brotherly countries.”

Earlier in April, Egypt's President Abdel Fatteh Sisi appreciated PM Imran's debt relief initiative in a telephonic conversation with the latter.

"President Sisi expressed support for the prime minister’s debt relief Initiative," according to the statement.
