No new Covid-19 case reported in 30 districts

In the provincial capital, at least 43,283 individuals have recovered

No new case of coronavirus was reported across 30 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, The Express Tribune has learnt.

According to the spokesperson for the Punjab Primary and Secondary Health Care Department (P&SHD), the provincial capital, which had suffered as the epicentre of the pandemic in the province, only recorded 11 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours - a number deemed lowest over the course of four months.

Other districts reporting new Covid-19 cases include Sahiwal, 5, Multan, 2, Faisalabad, 2, Mianwali, 2, and Gujranwala and Sargodha one each.

During the day, four deaths and 24 new coronavirus cases were reported in Punjab of which only one patient is in a critical condition.

Health officials confirmed that as many as 82,563 people had recovered from the disease whereas 2,148 had succumbed to it in the province.

In the provincial capital, at least 43,283 individuals have recovered from the virus so far and the death toll stands at 826.

As per statistics issued by the government, nearly 61% of the reported Covid-19 cases were confirmed in people aged between 16 to 45 years.

Moreover, gender-wise distribution reveals that over 46% of the virus victims in the province were females.
