Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam is all set to headline a live concert amid the pandemic in Dubai this August, according to Gulf News.

The concert marks one of the first few live gigs to be held in the wake of Covid-19 with restrictions being followed globally.

Joining Nigam on stage at the Dubai World Trade Centre on August 21 will be an ensemble of 18 musicians and performers from the UAE who perform for ‘The Light’.

"The Light is a reminder that no matter the darkness, love, beauty and light will always prevail," Khaleej Times quoted Nigam as saying. Managing director of Blu Blood Osman Osman also told the outlet, "We are pleased to be making history, for Blu Blood this concert represents the light at the end of this darkness, and we will prevail with the Will of the Almighty, the world will see a new normal."

According to organisers, Blu Blood Middle East, the show will follow all government health and safety guidelines set for social distancing.

Earlier Gulf News reported Nigam as admitting that he chose to stay back in Dubai when the pandemic broke out, because his son studies there. The Bollywood singer also hosted a virtual concert during his time there amid the movement restrictions across the UAE and India.
