Islamabad Police arrests alleged thieves

Accused confessed to stealing cash and valuables

ISLAMABAD:

Personnel of Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police on Friday claimed to have busted a gang allegedly involved in looting various houses after getting a female accomplice employed there as a maid. A police spokesperson on Friday said that a CIA police squad including Sub-Inspectors Tasneem Ahmed, Aamir Hayat and others had arrested a woman who was allegedly involved in committing thefts at various houses along with her accomplices. The suspects were identified as Asifa Bibi, Ayaz and Tasawaur. They had cases pending against them at the Lohi Bher, Ramana and Women police stations of the city. During preliminary investigations, they allegedly confessed to stealing cash and valuables from houses where Asifa was employed. Operations DIG Waqaruddin Syed appreciated the performance of CIA police team and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for them.
