Three held for robberies, murder

A joint team of Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) and the Khanna police arrested three suspected gangsters for their alleged involvement in dacoities and murder. Weapons were also recovered their possession, a police spokesperson said on Thursday. SP Investigation constituted two special teams under the supervision of CIA DSP Hakim Khan including SI Tariq Rauf, ASIs Zulfiqar Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed and others. This squad, comprising policemen from Khanna police station and CIA wing apprehended three gangsters who were allegedly involved in killing the cashier of a petrol pump on Kurri Road during a dacoity attempt. They had also injured a security guard during the incident.The gangsters were identified as Liaqat Shah, Noor and Liaqat. Police said that they also recovered three 30 bore pistols along with ammunition from them. During interrogation, the suspects allegedly confessed to their involvement in various dacoity incidents in the city, including robbing a money changer and the cashier of a fuel pump. IGP Islamabad Aamir and DIG Syed have appreciated the performance of CIA and Khanna Police and announced commendation certificates along with cash rewards for the policemen who nabbed these gangsters.
