LAHORE:

Punjab Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal said on Thursday that an intensified crackdown against profiteers was under way in the province and at least 852 persons had been arrested and Rs57.5 million worth of fines imposed on them during the current month.

The minister said as many as 898 cases had been registered against those found guilty of fleecing consumers in July and an indiscriminate operation would continue against profiteers and hoarders across Punjab.
