Their counsel implored the court that the food department had issued the notification imposing a ban on the sale and manufacturing of ghee in the province. The counsel contended that the act of the government of issuing such a notification was a violation of the Constitution.
He submitted that the food department did not take into confidence the stakeholders and avoided consultation with them. The petitioners prayed to the court that the notification issued by the food department be set aside and permission be granted for manufacturing and selling ghee in the province.
