Farhan Saeed pays tribute to Wasim Akram

The singer has called the legendary cricketer an 'inspiration'

After paying his respects to prominent public figures in Pakistan, actor-singer Farhan Saeed has set his eyes on non-other than Wasim Akram.  As part of his ongoing tribute to 'living legends' of Pakistan, the Pee Jaun singer saluted the Sultan of Swing, for his many accomplishments.

Describing him as "undoubtedly amongst the best all-rounders to have ever played the game," Saeed talked about he is an Akram fan, off the field as well.

"I have been an Akram fan for as long as I can remember - both on and off the field. Each and every time I've had a chance to meet with him, Wasim Bhai's personality and grace have overwhelmed me," he said. "His absolute dedication to the sport and his unmatched love for the country are an absolute inspiration. I am completely in awe of the time he invests in extending support to aspiring young cricketers which in my view is invaluable."

Saeed further went on to thank Akram for all his contributions to the country in all the capacities he has worked in. “As a cricketer, commentator, coach and in the multiple hats he dons, Wasim Akram is an exemplary role model. Shukriya (Thank you), Wasim Bhai - may you forever keep inspiring us and raising the bar each day. You are undoubtedly one of Pakistan's best ambassadors to the world!” he said.

Saeed, has taken it upon himself to honour some of Pakistan's living legends. The Suno Chanda actor in an Instagram post earlier in June announced that he would celebrate living legends of Pakistan each day via his Instagram.

"A pandemic has pushed the world to its limits. Racial differences have sparked outrage and so many revered innocent souls have left us," an excerpt of his post read. Adding on Farhan talked about how the whole world united in celebrating the legends that passed away this year and as such people shouldn't "waste any time" and commemorate those that are still alive.

"I wish to honour their lives and cherish their presence among us, and I wish to express gratitude for sharing this world with someone of their stature," he said.

Akram is not the first cricketer, Saeed has honoured. Earlier on he had celebrated the career of veteran Batsman, Javed Miandad.” His career and achievements need no introduction. The magic of Javed sahab's last ball six against arch-rivals India in Sharjah still lives on. An integral part of Pakistan's World Cup winning squad of 1992 - words aren't enough to describe the glory his career has brought to Pakistan,” Farhan had said.
