Fake government recruiter apprehended

Man impersonated govt officers, had fake stamps of several departments

ISLAMABAD:

A man was arrested from the Sector E-11 on Wednesday for allegedly minting money by promising jobs but providing fake appointment letters to people.

A police spokesperson said that a police squad from the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), led by DSP Hakim Khan and including ASIs Sadheer Abbasi, Irfanullah and the personnel of security agency had received information about Nadeem Khan, a resident of Sector E-11/3 but originally hailing from the Barya Tehsil in Nowshera Feroz district of Sindh.

On probing the matter, they discovered that Nadeem impersonated government officers, promising people jobs in various government departments for a fee while also extorting them later. For this purpose, he had an expensive, imported car with a fake number plates. He was also wanted in several cases of fraud including cheque dishonour cases.

Subsequently, police and the security service conducted a joint raid and apprehended Nadeem.

They recovered a double-cabin Vigo vehicle (ICT-AQF-799) with fake number plate, wireless sets, shackles, fake stamps from 28 different government departments, fake service cards, fake number plates and fake weapons licenses.

During preliminary investigations, he confessed to looting people after installing fake red number plate (CC-01-182) - which are usually issued to diplomats - on his vehicle.

Police discovered that he has cases registered against him at the Kandhkot police station in Sindh.
