Sushant Singh Rajput inspired film's villain named 'Nepoking'

There's no denying this 'Nepoking' looks eerily similar to a currently infamous Bollywood producer

Indian model Rana has been cast as the antagonist of Suicide or Murder, an upcoming film inspired by the life and death of Sushant Singh Rajput and other 'outsiders'.

Although it does not qualify as Rajput's biopic, according to the Hindustan Times, the film features his lookalike, Sachin Tiwari in the leading role. What has startled people more about the film, is the way Rana has been styled to reveal the first look of the upcoming production. Bearing uncanny resemblance to a certain producer in Bollywood who has been subject of many controversies lately, Rana's character has been called 'Nepoking'.

Nepoking is a film producer who wears large glasses and has perfectly styled hair.“He is a big shot but he only launches star kids. Introducing #RANA as ‘The Nepoking’ in #SuicideOrMurder,” a social media post announcing the casting read.

Previously, Rajput's lookalike Tiwari had been cast in the role of an ‘outsider’ in the film industry.

Suicide or Murder's producer Vijay Shekhar Gupta was quoted by the Indian Express as saying, “My film is a tribute to those who have fallen victim to the nepotistic approach of the bigwigs. It is meant to expose the game the big producers play. The film is definitely not a biopic of Sushant Singh Rajput but inspired by the lives of outsiders who allegedly fall victim to the nepotism that prevails in the film industry.”

Tiwar on the other hand, had expressed earlier that he does not want to disappoint Rajput’s fans .The film was announced just a couple of days after the star's demise and the newcomer who hails from Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh, said it was then that he approached the filmmaker.

“I started following him (Gupta) on social media and then when he saw my pictures, he decided that I will be the hero of the film,” he said, adding, “I want to do a good job in the film and I hope I don’t disappoint his fans.”

The shooting is expected to begin in September in Mumbai and Punjab, with a release expected around Christmas this year.
