Tencent donates masks to Indus Hospital
Tencent International Service, a technology company, has joined with The Indus Hospital, extending support to the healthcare facility in the battle against the coronavirus. The enterprise has donated 100,000 KN95 masks, 300,000 disposable medical face masks and 50 positive airways pressure units to the hospital from its $100 million Covid-19 fund. Speaking on the matter, Tencent president Martin Lau said, “… we recognise there is an urgent need for personal protective equipment and other medical supplies, particularly at the onset of the pandemic, when traditional supply channels cannot meet the sudden surge in need. By donating these supplies, we hope to help protect frontline medical professionals and workers who are fighting tirelessly and selflessly for all of us.” Expressing gratitude for the gesture, The Indus Hospital head Dr Abdul Bari Khan said, “Collaborations like these are highly critical during such trying times.” The Indus Hospital is one of the hospitals in Sindh that has been providing Covid-19 treatment since the onset of the pandemic.
