‘Women Protection Act to be implement’ 

MoU prepared between Balochistan govt and Mehrgarh Sexual Harassment Committee

Chief Minister of Balochistan Jam Kamal on Monday stressed full implementation of Protection of Women Act 2016 along with providing them a safe and better working environment.

He passed these remarks while talking to Nafeesa Shahwani, a member of Mehrgarh Sexual Harassment Committee that is a women’s rights organisation. Member of Provincial Assembly Laila Tareen and female ombudsman Sabra Islam were also present on the occasion.

Shahwani informed the CM regarding the steps being taken by the committee to prevent incidents of sexual harassment against women.

An MoU has been prepared between the provincial government and the committee under which training programs will be conducted in different districts of the province in which women and concerned institutions will be informed regarding how to prevent sexual harassment against women.
