AN electric vehicle charging station set up in the federal capital a few days ago has started functioning. The first charging station has been set up at the filling station in Sector F-7 Markaz by the Barqtron Energy Company.
The charging station started working after an electric vehicle charger was installed at the station. A spokesperson for the Science and Technology Ministry termed the initiative as a welcoming move for the country which will soon see electric vehicles playing on its roads.
Earlier, in a post on microblogging network, Twitter, Federal Science and Technology Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain hailed the opening of the EV (E-vehicles) charging station, noting that it will help encourage electric vehicles as future modes of transportation. The minister also stated that only a percentage in duty will be imposed on the establishment of electric vehicle manufacturing units in Pakistan.
