ICT chief commissioner asked to submit asset details

ISLAMABAD:

The chief commissioner, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), has been directed to submit his annual declaration of assets for the year 1999 to 2019 in compliance with the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules 1964.

In a notice issued by the Establishment Division, dated 30 June 2020, ICT Chief Commissioner Amir Ali Ahmed has been directed to submit details of his assets within a period of one month from the date of receipt of the letter.

Failure to comply would result in disciplinary proceedings against him under the Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 1973.

According to Rule 12 of the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules 1964, all government servants are required to submit their declaration of income and assets on the prescribed performa at the end of each financial year (June 30th).

Non-compliance of the rule is tantamount to misconduct and constitutes an offence liable to be proceeded against under the Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 1973.
