The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday ordered the immediate appointment of new judges by August 8 after seeking the approval from the prime minister for the new rules proposed by the law division. The Ministry of Law and Justice has prepared a plan of action for the appointment of new judges in special courts on time. The Ministry of Law had submitted a report on the new rules regarding the appointment of judges in the high court. The process of appointing a new judge can be started 90 days before the appointment. The law ministry will also develop software that will inform before a judge’s seat becomes vacant. There are 16 vacancies for tribunals and special judges in Islamabad. Chief Justice Atharmanullah sought a report on the appointments by August 8 and adjourned the hearing until then.
