Covid-19 claims eight more lives in Punjab
The coronavirus disease claimed eight more lives in the province over the last 24 hours. As per details, the total number of Covid-19 cases in the province exceeded 91,690 after registration of 268 new patients in the last 24 hours.
According to the spokesperson of Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department on Saturday, the total number of deaths from the disease was 2,113 in the province.
The health department confirmed that 106 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the provincial capital, three new cases in Nankana Sahib, seven in Kasur, five in Sheikhupura, 40 in Rawalpindi, two in Attock, 11 in Gujranwala, 12 in Sialkot, one in Narowal, six in Gujrat, one in Hafizabad, three in Mandi Bahauddin, nine in Multan, one in Khanewal, 13 in Faisalabad, two in Toba Tek Singh and five in Rahim Yar Khan.
Punjab health department has conducted 685,228 tests for Covid-19 so far, while at least 81,241 confirmed patients have recovered in the province.
Health department officials also appealed to the citizens to adopt government-mandated SOPs for their protection and cover their faces with masks. The officials stated the people should wash their hands with soap several times a day to protect themselves from the contagion. Helpline 1033 should be contacted immediately on symptoms of coronavirus.
