Protest against withholding of water

Land owners and growers protested on roads of Dera Murad Jamali and staged a sit-in outside the office of Naseerabad commissioner against withholding of irrigation water.

The flow of water has been obstructed from main feeder canal to subsidiary canals resulting in drying up crops of rice in Naseerabad due to the shortage of water. Naseerabad Commissioner Abid Qureshi held talks with the protesters and assured them steps would be taken to resolve their problems.

Later, the demonstrators called off protest.
