PESHAWAR:

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) Bar Association on Wednesday strongly condemned the assassination attempt on Advocate Fazal Khan, a leader of the Army Public School Shuhada Forum.

Fazal on Tuesday had survived the assassination attempt in the Kakshal area of the provincial capital, within the remits of the Yakatut police station.

The victim told police that he was returning home from the PHC after attending the day’s proceedings when two unidentified armed assailants riding on a motorbike opened fire at him on the City Circular Road.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Peshawar High Court Bar Association lamented that despite the passage of 24 hours, Fazal’s attackers remain at large.

The bar association also staged a protest in front of the high court on Wednesday. Members of civil society also joined them.

Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against unidentified people.
