The Supreme Court (SC) indefinitely adjourned on Wednesday the hearing of former Fishermen’s Cooperative Society chairperson Nisar Morai’s bail plea, due to the absence of his lawyer.
A three-member bench, comprising Justice Faisal Arab, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Munib Akhter, was hearing the plea. The National Accountability Bureau prosecutor and the legal team appeared before the court with the case record.
However, Morai’s counsel was not present. The court adjourned the hearing of the plea for an indefinite period. Morai was imprisoned on charges of corruption, illegal appointments and possessing assets beyond means.
