Probe into Sindh PA fire sought

PTI MPA says it may not be an accident

KARACHI:

The recent fire in the Sindh Assembly’s records room should be investigated profoundly, as it may have not been an accident, said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) MPA Khurram Sherzaman after inspecting the site of the fire on Tuesday.

Zaman stated it should be determined why “the records room catches fire repeatedly.” He demanded that the investigation be carried out by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), alleging that “transparent investigations cannot be expected from the Sindh Anti-Corruption Department.”

He asserted that the NAB must find out who had benefited from the fire incident.

Zaman further claimed that earlier, the revenue records were burned when Sindh Secretariat caught fire.

“The public should think about why the records of their money get burnt repeatedly under the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) regime in Sindh,” stated Zaman, adding that “all the files [in the records room] were piled up in a corner and had burned to ash.”

He insisted that Sindh Assembly speaker Agha Siraj Durrani must order an investigation of the incident immediately.
