Sushant Singh Rajput’s psychiatrists record statement with police

Actor Kangana Ranaut is now questioning the doctors' claims

In a new development, police have recorded statements from three psychiatrists and a psychotherapist to facilitate their ongoing investigation into actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, reported Hindustan Times.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abhishek Trimukhe, the statements were reportedly recorded over a period of three to four days by Bandra police, revealing that Rajput was being treated for depression since November 2019.

Actor Kangana Ranaut, who has vowed to prove that Sushant’s death was, in fact, a murder, subsequently took to Twitter to question the official probe. “Suddenly, many news reports from Mumbai Police doing rounds that Sushant was ‘mentally ill’. One of the many psychiatrists who he met occasionally has claimed this.”

“Wow! Can he prove it? Isn’t it against law to disclose medical history even if he had any?,” questioned Kangana.

Sushant, 34, was found dead at his apartment in Bandra, Mumbai on June 14, after an alleged suicide. An investigation into his case was opened shortly thereafter. So far, police have talked to over 36 people, including girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, casting director Mukesh Chhabra, and Sushant’s co-star in his last release Dil Bechara, Sanjana Sanghi, among others.

Fans have also been demanding a CBI inquiry into his death, with Rhea also pushing forward a demand for the same on her Instagram.
