Petrol pumps in Sindh to remain open 24/7

Duration for bakeries to stay open has also been increased to 10pm from the earlier 7pm

In pursuance of the approval accorded by the National Command and Operation Centre, the Sindh Home Department on Saturday night issued a notification to keep petrol pumps open “24 hours a day and seven days a week” from the earlier 12 hours a day routine.

According to the notification, the duration for bakeries to stay open has also been increased to 10pm from the earlier 7pm.

The notification stated that the decision was taken in continuation of earlier order dated July 15, 2020 and as per discussion and decision at the NCOC on Saturday.

The NCOC held its special session in Sindh’s capital on Saturday, where it directed all provinces to strictly adhere to the standard operating procedures during Eidul Azha prepare for Muharramul Haram.

The session, chaired by Planning Minister Asad Umar, who is also the chairman of NCOC, took stock of the overall situation regarding the coronavirus pandemic in Sindh before giving a go ahead to keep the petrol pumps open 24/7.
